Yesterday was a pretty good day. I haven’t been able to say that about a treatment day too often. Pete and I met with the doctor and he was very encouraging. I was concerned because I really hadn’t had much chemo since my last treatment 8 weeks ago (not sure last week’s ¼ of a bag counts). But he assured us that the Herceptin I’ve been getting, if everything is doing its job, will keep the cancer from spreading and could even be reducing it on its own. Next week I start a new chemo. I’m going to be starting Taxotere with the Herceptin. It’s a little more harsh to tolerate than the Taxol, but he assured us that it works just as well with the Herceptin to beat the cancer down. The good news is I only have to have treatment every three weeks, instead of every week. I will have to take oral steroids the day before, of and after treatment.
The doctor seemed to be very encouraging. I asked him about meeting the other patient he had talked about me meeting, who is going through the same diagnosis as me. He said he wanted to give it a little more time, until we were both in the right place. But he did say that he was looking forward to being able to refer patients to me as support in later years. I like that for two reasons. One, he doesn’t think I’m the raving lunatic I feel like sometimes, and two he sees me being around down the years. I’d really like being helpful to other women as scared and confused as I have been.
On a different note. I’ve posted some pictures on this blog site. It only took me 4 months to figure out how to! I still haven’t been able to insert them directly into the post, so I’m assuming it isn’t possible. To see the pictures click on Albums on the right hand MENU list
The Word document will open and you can scroll down the document to see the pictures I’ve embedded in the document. Putting the pictures in a Word document was the best way to get the most pictures downloaded.
Those of you who don’t know me will finally get to see a picture. For those of you who haven’t met Pete there’s one almost 2 years old of us together. I have other pictures of us, but not in soft copy. The grandbaby and kids are in there too. I'll let you know in the blogs when I change the pictures up.
Keep up the GREAT praying! I’m feeling really blessed, every day. The cards and well wishes comments mean so much to me. I pray for all of you every day and love you very much!
God Bless
Lynn
