Faithfully Fighting

Over the Mountain We Go

This will be my last post before my surgery.  I'll be heading down to Charlottesville, VA to the University of Virginia Medical Center on Weds, 10/15, for pre-op.  Then on Friday I'll have my surgery.  They said I'd be in the hospital 5-8 days so I should be home by 10/23, but I wouldn't look for a new post until about a week after that, if I were you.

Strangely I'm not really nervous, yet.  I'm sure I'll get more anxious as Friday gets closer.  But it's not like it was the first big surgery back in February where I was terrified for the entire week before.  I have much more peace this time.  Don't get me wrong, I'd still like to call the whole thing off, but I know I can't.  I'd like to think that the peace is from my growing relationship with the Lord, but it may also be because this is the 4th surgery I've had this year.  Just another stepping stone of my journey.  I guess that's how the Lord works, he strengthens you as you walk along His path for your life.  Each step we take is another weight we learn to hand over to Him and another lesson in prayer and humility.  What an honor to be his child and have those lessons individually handed to me while he stands close.

Well, I've cleaned the house (hate coming home to a dirty house), emptied the fridge (the freezer is full though), Patrick is feeding the cats, and I packed almost everything I hope I need.  I kissed my big girl and grandbaby yesterday, and am taking Kathryn to drama class and dinner tonight before she goes to her Dad's.  I think I'm ready to battle another alligator (that's my advanced breast cancer support group's code word for our tangles with all the different medical chores we face).

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father or our Lord Jesus Christ.  Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.  Romans 15:5-7

Love you all,

Lynn

Dear Lynn, While you have always been in my prayers you are back on our American Baptist church prayer list here in Addison, VT. I know the Lord will get you through this as He had so many times before. Your Faith is an inspiration to all of us. May the peace of God which passes understanding be with you and yours now and always. (Paraphrased) Much love, Cousin Ann in Vermont

You are in my thoughts and prayers daily, but I will pray extra on Friday. I'm so glad you have such peace this time - God is so good, isn't he? You'll never know how much I've appreciated your support in the past few months - God has greatly used you. Let me know if I can do anything. Love,

Over the Mountain
