Surgery Update

lynnwv | October 21, 2008 16:04

Hi everyone, just thought I'd drop a quick note.  I had my surgery last Friday and things went better than everyone expected.  The mass was smaller than expected and there was just a small attachment to the colon, no dissection was required.  I got to come home yesterday-10/20 (2 days earlier than the earliest expected date).  The head of the genecology oncology department kept calling me the Wonder from Winchester because I was recovering so well.  I am in pain, but am taking good drugs that help a lot.  I am doing nothing right now except resting.

The Sunday school class is bringing me meals through the weekend.  Pete did my laundry yesterday and I’m letting my Dad feed the cats.   I feel truly blessed.

Being at the University Hospital is very different than being at Winchester Medical Center.  The care is still excellent, but I have never seen so many doctors, every day, in my life.  I'll write a longer blog about some of the silly stuff that happened in a week or so, when I have the energy.

Thank you so much for your prayers!  The Lord has been so good to me!

Love, Lynn

So glad to hear it all went well and not as invasive as you thought it might be. Every thing you are doing you have to do to give you a chance to get through this. You have many people praying for you and supporting you. That is great. Love, Aunt Mary
